The former First Sea Lord of the British Royal Navy, retired Admiral Sir George Zambelas, will be joining Liquid Robotics’ global strategic advisory board, the company announced on Wednesday.
“As a member of this distinguished board of advisors, Sir George will bring his vast military and maritime domain knowledge to help Liquid Robotics explore and develop new relationships and opportunities in the military and the non-military markets globally,” the company said in the announcement. The sight of the Band of HM Royal Marines Scotland leading the 350 green berets of 45 Commando and their associated Army units through the granite-flanked streets of Arbroath isn’t half bad too… It is 45 years since 45 Commando moved into the former naval air base at Condor on the edge of the coastal town (pop. 23,902) – and that warranted a civic celebration.

UK and US Navy mine countermeasure ships recently carried out the MCMEX 17-2 in international waters off Bahrain.
The mine-clearance exercise consisted of individual units clearing areas of ‘mine threats’ in order to exercise their ability to do so for real at a moments notice. Royal Navy mine hunter HMS Chiddingfold led the charge, finding and recovering five drill mine shapes in the first week of the exercise. A vital part of the mine hunting capability is the diving element on board, which was tasked with recovering the mines themselves. via John Currin (JC - Ex RNZN) - Google+ Public Posts http://ift.tt/2o4jp6V |
